The Denver Broncos placed defensive lineman Billy Winn on injured reserve Saturday after the sixth-year veteran tore the ACL in his right knee during the team's preseason opener Thursday night against the Chicago Bears. Wolfe couldn't put any weight on his right leg as he was helped inside.

"It's an ankle injury, we're not sure how bad", Broncos coach Vance Joseph said immediately following practice. In a complementary transaction, the team signed defensive lineman Nelson Adams.

I will do my best like I did last season. "Kyle is so energetic, Mendy is such an energetic player, and Danilo too". City lack depth at centre-back where Vincent Kompany, John Stones and Nicolás Otamendi are the only senior options.

Also sidelined are nose tackle Kyle Peko (foot) and outside linebackers Shane Ray (wrist) and Shaq Barrett (hip).

Wolfe missed four games in 2015 due to a PED violation, and had a neck injury past year that cost him two games.
