The 23-year-old England worldwide has struggled to secure a regular place since arriving at Arsenal six years ago, but Wenger believes the winger has the potential to become a great player.

Wage demands had reportedly been a huge sticking point for Sanchez, and Arsenal have now upped their offer from a previous one of £275,000 a week.

It would therefore appear that one more season with Arsenal and a free transfer next summer to the club of his choosing is now the most likely outcome for Sanchez. But do I feel sorry for Chelsea because they don't have enough players? No'. Even if that takes over £80m, PSG believe they can get him.

The Gunners famously failed to qualify for the Champions League last season, for the first time in 20 years under Arsene Wenger, and performed miserably against Bayern Munich during their own Champions League campaign too.

But the Gunners boss has also publicly stated he remains confident both Ozil and Sanchez will remain at Arsenal for the upcoming season.

The latest round of rumours have linked Sanchez, who has less than 12 months to run on his current contract at Arsenal, with an £80million move to Paris Saint-Germain.

After nearly 12 months of speculation surrounding Sanchez's future the end-game doesn't appear to be in sight.

When asked if Arsenal have received bids for Sanchez, Wenger replied: "I can not tell you that".
