Dallas Cowboys RB Ezekiel Elliott ready for 'long battle' over suspension

Dallas Cowboys executive vice president Stephen Jones expressed support for running back Ezekiel Elliott, who was suspended six games Friday, but also said the team believes in replacements Darren McFadden, Alfred Morris and Rod Smith. But Elliott and his representation plan to fight the suspension arduously. Dak Prescott will also be missing from action.

Earlier Friday, Elliott's representatives responded to the news, saying the league's findings are "replete with factual inaccuracies".

Morata's Goal Not Enough As 9-Man Blues Crash
Despite the dire performance, the majority of the 41, 616 fans still cheered head coach Antonio Conte's name from the stands. That was until Luiz sprinted onto Morata's pass and volleyed in to bring the nine men to within a goal of Burnley .

If the NFL determines that there is enough evidence that Elliott was responsible for the punch, there is a chance the Cowboys running back could face further league discipline.

Elliott has three days from receipt of the letter to file an appeal, and assuming he does so, he will have a hearing within 10 days of his filing.

Manchester City clear favourites for Premier League title
But there were too many draws. " At the end of the game the boys were disappointed that we didn't win ". Leaping from sixth place to top may appear ambitious but United are precisely that.

"I am both surprised and disappointed by the NFL's decision today, and I strongly disagree with the League's findings", the statement read. "I recognize the distraction and disruption that all of this has caused my family, teammates, the Dallas Cowboys organization as well as my fans - for that I am sincerely sorry".

Elliott was seen on the field doing pregame sprints, and did not look to be injured. If we have to play with other running backs, we like the running backs on this team. The Columbus City Attorney's office announced in September that it would not pursue charges against Elliott because of "conflicting and inconsistent information", but the National Football League can penalize a player even without legal charges. Elliott's suspension is just the latest in a long list of Cowboys off-field woes during the summer. In his rookie season, Elliott rushed for 1,631 yards and 15 touchdowns.

A performance like this, maybe somewhat hard to come by with the amount of action he will surely face. Yet the suspicion remains Conte enjoys the adversity he believes his club to be facing.
