Murphy was set to serve a four-game suspension at the beginning of the regular season after violating the NFL's drug abuse policy in the offseason.

The Redskins wanted to be creative with their outside linebackers, with both Smith and Murphy capable of playing inside in certain packages - as they did on occasion in 2016.

Trent Murphy's uphill climb to get ready for the 2017 Washington Redskins' season just got a lot steeper.

Bolt pulls up injured in final race of his career
Lasitskene, who missed last year's Rio Olympics because of Russia's suspension, failed at 1.99 twice but regained form thereafter. Newly-crowned 110m hurdles champion Omar McLeod, Jamaica's lead-off runner, added: "Everybody was jelly, everybody was pumped".

Murphy fell and twisted his left knee awkwardly in the first quarter of the team's preseason game against the Ravens Thursday night.

"It's too bad", coach Jay Gruden said before practice Saturday.

It's an unfortunate blow for Murphy, who is coming off the best season of his career, during which he recorded nine sacks and 55 quarterback pressures (sacks plus hits plus hurries).
