The European team beat the Chinese opponents Newbee, which took home $3.9 million for a second-place position.

Chinese team LFY - which has a sole Malaysian player, "Ahfu" Tue Soon Chuan - came in third at the prestigious The International 2017 Dota 2, winning US$2.5mil (RM10.7mil). None other could do so with such persuasiveness and prowess as Team Liquid, the victor of this year's Championship.
