PSG won 3-0 against Guingamp on Neymar's debut for the Ligue 1 side. The Brazilian, signed from Barcelona for a world-record £198m, slotted home after 82 minutes, converting Edinson Cavani's low ball across the box.

The record attendance at the tiny Roudourou stadium was broken as 18,378 fans attended the much-anticipated debut of the Brazil forward.

In the 35th minute, he scooped a delicate cross above the defence but Marquinhos's header crashed onto the bar.

President Trump to launch investigation into China trade violations
Trump has requested similar inquiries on trade, but the reports haven't been delivered on deadline. The officials said that matter, and the trade issue, are not linked.

Right-back Ikoko, a PSG academy graduate, had been the focus of unfamiliar attention in the build-up as the most likely man to directly oppose Neymar but his downfall early in the second period was all of his own making as his mis-directed pass back towards goalkeeper Karl-Johan Johnsson was too strong and crept in via the upright.

The Brazil star took his place on the left-hand side of a front three alongside Cavani and Angel Di Maria and looked lively throughout against an opponent that was happy to sit deep and defend in numbers until PSG found a breakthrough thanks to Jordan Ikoko's freaky own goal.

Neymar would go on to put a goal and assist to his name. It feels like we'll be seeing plenty of magic from the Neymar-Cavani this season.

The six-time French champions doubled their advantage in emphatic fashion, though, with Neymar providing a sublime through-ball for Cavani, who thumped home his 90th goal in just 135 French top-flight games (62'). The France global Mbappé was left on the bench amid speculation that he wants to join PSG but he was not needed as Monaco equalled the record of 14 consecutive wins in the French league.

Earlier, Lille were beaten 3-0 at promoted RC Strasbourg, conceding all three goals after striker Nicolas de Preville took over as goalkeeper following the sending off of Mike Maignan in the 63rd minute.
