Jamie Foxx set to host Hurricane Harvey telethon: 'Texas hang in there'

"Just wanted to let everyone in Texas know, we got you".

Hollywood has already been donating to help the areas and people devastated by the Category 4 hurricane, which has caused massive flooding and damage and killed 30 so far since first making landfall on August 25.

Taking to Instagram, the Texas native revealed that not only had he donated $25,000 (£19,400) to GlobalGiving's Hurricane relief fund but he was also enlisting the help of his celebrity friends to "raise as much money as we can for everybody down there".

"September 12th, we have a telethon we're doing. We'll give you more details, so we can raise as much money as we can for everybody down there", he continues.

Thanking the actor for this, the fund's president Brian Gallagher has said: "We are incredibly grateful for the generosity of Leonardo DiCaprio and his foundation".

Music stars have been doing their bit to help as well, with many arranging concerts to raise funds to go towards relief efforts. Ever since the hurricane hit, it has been downgraded to a tropical depression, still wreaking havoc across Texas.

TMZ reports that the telethon - being held in New York, Los Angeles and Nashville - is being organized by Houston rapper Bun B, in conjunction with the organizers of Ariana Grande's One Love Manchester concert, including her manager Scooter Braun.

Reese Witherspoon and Blake Shelton will reportedly host the telethon in Nashville, while Foxx and Hilary Duff will take over in Los Angeles.

U.S. rapper Bun B - who is from Houston, one of the many cities affected by the natural disaster - has revealed the telethon will take place in three cities, Los Angeles, New York and Nashville.

Clapton also wanted to reflect the chemistry between Dany and Jon , so she added a few details to the queen's costume design. Podeswa won't be directing any of the six episodes that will make up season 8, the final season of the series.

The Big Bang Theory's Jim Parsons is also thought to be part of the event.
