Fellaini new deal imminent

GETTYChelsea new boy Alvaro Morata has confirmed Manchester United made an offer for him

Belgian global Marouane Fellaini is in talks with Manchester United over a new contract, according to a report.

Mourinho saw this from early on and, in turn, continued to give the 29-year-old opportunities last season, despite protestations from supporters.

Fellaini did have the chance to join Turkish side Galatasaray in the summer, but Reds boss Jose Mourinho showed how much he rates the player by blocking the transfer to keep him at Old Trafford.

Blast in Afghanistan's Khost province kills four
Sarhadi Zwak, a spokesman for the provincial governor, says two others were wounded in that attack. Khairat said the blast was caused by a "remote-controlled bomb".

He said: "I have always thought of Fellaini as a player with special qualities".

The midfielder is yet to start a game this season but came off the bench to inspire United to victory in the Champions League match against Basel on Tuesday with the first of their three goals.

Mourinho has been quoted as saying that the United squad is weaker when Fellaini is not in it, and reports now suggest he will do all he can to get the midfielder tied down to a long-term deal with the Reds.

The company has a 50 day moving average price of GBX 2,140.54 and a 200-day moving average price of GBX 2,102.92. Credit Suisse Group's target price would indicate a potential upside of 18.91% from the stock's current price.

But as his 30th birthday is fast approaching, that could be a problem for Fellaini as the club have a policy of only offering one-year extensions to players of that age.
