Jerry Jones has reportedly 'impeded' Roger Goodell's contract extension talks

ESPN's Adam Schefter reports Cowboys owner Jerry Jones is "impeding" extension talks for commissioner Roger Goodell. Schefter didn't say anything about the Zeke Elliott situation, but it's hard to imagine that isn't playing at least some role.

"If not for Jerry, this deal would be done", a source told Schefter regarding Goodell's extension.

Back in August, it was reported that Goodell and NFL owners were close to agreeing to a five-year contract extension for the head of the league that would take Goodell through 2024.

Chelsea manager Conte eyes revenge over Arsenal
Arsenal came from behind on Thursday to record a 3-1 win over FC Koln in the Europa League. If you see their squad you can understand there are a lot of top players.

This season, Goodell has seemingly made an enemy out of Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones, who seems dead-set on suspending Ezekiel Elliott for player misconduct-despite the mounting evidence that his domestic violence accuser has been lying throughout the entire process.

Goodell's deal was expected to be completed before this season began, but due to his issues with Jones, his long-term future as National Football League commissioner may very well be in question. Next up is the compensation committee's conference call Wednesday, which is expected to produce a specific term proposal for Goodell, sources said.

One league source said Jones now considers himself a representative of the remaining 26 owners who are not on the compensation committee.

Banksy gives £205000 to human rights and anti-arms trade groups
The anonymous street artist Banksy has donated £205,000 from the sale of a protest piece to anti-arms campaigners. He added: "It's time to shut it down for good".

The members of the NFL's compensation committee include chairman Arthur Blank of the Falcons, Clark Hunt (Chiefs), Robert Kraft (Patriots), John Mara (Giants), Bob McNair (Texans) and Art Rooney II (Steelers).

As PFT reported back in March, Jones argued in an owners-only meeting that more owners should be involved in negotiating the contract with the Commissioner, and that (essentially) the Commissioner makes too much.
