Changes Needed In Iran Nuclear Deal To Win US Support, Tillerson Says

Secretary of State Rex Tillerson told "Special Report with Bret Baier" Tuesday night that that the 2015 nuclear deal between the US, five other world powers and Iran "really has to be revisited".

Tillerson, in an interview on Fox News, said the so-called sunset clauses, under which some of the 2015 deal's restrictions on Iran's nuclear program expire over time, were of particular concern. "If we're going to stick with the Iran deal there has to be changes made to it", he stated.

Tillerson said the United States will seek the help of allies in Europe who signed onto the deal in trying to persuade Iran to reopen negotiations over the sunset provisions. One of those clauses automatically lifts all of the sanctions regarding Tehran's nuclear program by 2030.
