Anna Paquin Joins Robert De Niro in Martin Scorsese's 'The Irishman'

With production in full swing on Martin Scorsese's The Irishman, Deadline is reporting that a new cast member has joined the film.

The film marks the first time Scorsese is working with his old muse Robert De Niro (who plays Sheeran) since 1995's Casino, and the two-time Oscar victor is hardly the only big name in the cast. Peggy dislikes the hitman lifestyle Frank has chosen for himself, so she distanced herself from her father over the years and is often finds herself living in fear of Frank anxious what he would do to those who wronged her, if she shared with him the problems in her life. At times, Peggy lives in fear of Frank, anxious to tell him about the problems in her life for fear of what he might do to the people that have wronged her.

An Oscar victor for The Piano and Emmy victor for True Blood, Paquin most recently appeared in the CBC crime drama Bellevue and History's miniseries remake of Roots.
