Player News Cowboys Releasing CB Nolan Carroll

Paea started four games for the Cowboys in 2017, recording 4 total tackles and playing in 51.1 percent of the defensive snaps through the first quarter of the season. It now appears neither player will be on Dallas' roster following the bye in Week Six.

Former Oregon State great and current Dallas Cowboys defensive tackle Stephen Paea is reportedly retiring from the National Football League at age 29.

Swinney to attend Alabama-Arkansas to celebrate '92 National Title
He almost beat them in their first national title matchup in 2016, though Alabama prevailed 45-40. At that point, Swinney was named interim head coach and later full-time head coach.

The Cowboys released Carroll on Wednesday. He was limited in his work in the spring and in training camp.

But the 29-year old has struggled with a knee injury so far this season. He was inactive for Sunday's loss to the Green Bay Packers. The return of defensive tackle David Irving from a PED suspension likely had something to do with that. He played in two games for Dallas and made seven tackles.

While Paea didn't have the biggest impact in the NFL-he played for four teams and recorded just 125 tackles-one of his most memorable athletic performances came before he ever took the field as a professional.

After spending the first four seasons of his career with the Bears, Paea has bounced around to the Washington Redskins, Cleveland Browns and Cowboys over the past three years.
