NBA League Pass This Season Can Be Streamed On A Massive Virtual Screen

The NBA has extended its partnership with VR technology company NextVR to deliver 27 live games during the 2017-18 season in VR, as well as a called Screening Room for other NBA League Pass games.

Just like past year, games were selected to give all 30 teams the opportunity to play in VR at least once. These games will include live volumetric telestration, live infographics and stats inserted into the virtual screen. Returning from last year's efforts are dedicated announcers, pre- and post-game coverage, and immersion in in-arena entertainment. "The fan response has been overwhelmingly positive, and we look forward to seeing their reaction to this year's new VR capabilities". Today they announced that they're doing it again, starting with a free preview on October 21st when the Houston Rockets host the Dallas Mavericks.

The stream is powered by NextVR, and is available via their app on Samsung's GearVR platform or Google Daydream - they're also introducing support for Microsoft's Windows Mixed-Reality headsets this season, but still no word on when you'll be able to watch on Oculus Rift.

Now the question of the price of course, for $200 League Pass owners will get the full experience, if that is too steep you can order the game you want for $7 via the NBA's on-demand-service.
