A 19-year-old man was shot by a police officer Thursday night in East Flatbush after flashing what turned out to be a BB gun.

A suspect is in critical condition after being shot in the leg by an officer in Brooklyn.

Cops got a report of a man with gun and arrived at a store at East 34th Street and Church Avenue in East Flatbush shortly after 10 p.m., officials said.

Police said officers chased after him and he was spotted with a firearm in his hand.

According to police, officers responded to calls of a man with a gun and confronted the suspect.

Police said the suspect continued running north on East 34th Street, but was apprehended.

A firearm that was recovered at the scene and was later determined to be a BB gun, Monahan said.

It wasn't immediately clear what the suspect was doing with the gun in the deli. He was taken to Kings County Hospital, where he is listed in critical but stable condition.

The officers were not injured. Police say the suspect has previous arrests, including one for robbery.

No one inside the deli was hurt.
