Space out with planets in Google Maps

Google's new announcement for Maps will surely excite you. Now Google Maps allow users virtually experience dozens of planets and moons in our solar system.

It's worth noting that while Google has long offered detailed imagery of Mars and the Earth's Moon, these weren't directly accessible from the Maps interface. The recent update has added many other planets and sub-planets in the list. For example, you can gaze at Gale Crater, the landing site of NASA's Curiosity rover, get astonished by the murky methane oceans of Titan and also you can spot recently-named features around Pluto's huge heart-shaped plain. Starting from your own front porch, close enough to read the numbers on the letterbox, you can then zoom right out to see your neighborhood, then the suburb, city, state, country, and eventually the entire planet with a quick scroll of a mouse wheel. After zooming in, it takes time in showing the clear surface.
