Tuesday night's game got the go-ahead on Monday despite one of the stands at Cork's home ground having suffered extensive storm damage.

Cork City finally claimed the League of Ireland Premier Division title, by getting the point they needed against Derry City in a lacklustre affair at Turner's Cross.

They missed the chance to leapfrog Shamrock Rovers into third by not winning in Cork but with just two games remaining, it is still possible for City to match their third place finish from last season.

City's clash with Derry was initially postponed until Tuesday evening but, given the severe damage that Turner's Cross has endured on Monday morning and afternoon, it now seems extremely likely that the fixture will have to be pushed back once again. I have taken young players out of school to come down and play for Derry City in a very important game.
