Five-star point guard Jahvon Quinerly decommits from Arizona Wildcats' class of 2018

Quinerly announced his decision via Twitter on Thursday night. "I'd like to thank my extended family and friends for your continued love and support". Recruited by Book Richardson to Arizona, the commitment of Quinerly was on unstable ground upon the arrest of the Wildcats' assistant during the Federal Bureau of Investigation bust that saw three other college assistants face a similar fate.

Though he and his family hadn't been contacted by the FBI, Quinerly's family hired a lawyer in the wake of the FBI's investigation into college basketball and alleged bribery, ESPN's Jeff Borzello reported on October 7.

A skilled, cerebral and talented lead guard that has become known for his developed skillset, Quinerly was heavily recruited by Villanova, Kansas, UCLA and Virginia before committing to Arizona in August.

According to ESPN, quoting the indictment papers: "Quinerly was not explicitly named in the Federal Bureau of Investigation documents, but he is committed to Arizona and was recruited by Arizona assistant Emanuel "Book" Richardson, who was one of four assistants (from various schools) arrested".

He told ESPN earlier this month his family hired Alan Milstein, who represented Maurice Clarett in 2004 in his fight against the NFL's age minimum.
