Mahindra and Mahindra, the popular Indian UV maker, has finally launched the much-awaited facelift of the current generation Scorpio. The facelifted avatar of the SUV gets cosmetic and feature updates along with changes in the power output. Mahindra Scorpio facelift is powered by the 2.2-liter mHawk diesel engine, but now the oil burner comes in two states of tune which is, the existing 120 bhp version and a tuned 140 bhp version. The facelift offers a maximum power of 140 BHP along with a peak torque of 330 Nm. Only the S7 and S11 get the new six-speed gearbox, which uses a new self-adjusting clutch that Mahindra claims will call for lower, consistent effort even towards the end of its lifecycle.

As for safety features, the 2017 Mahindra Scorpio facelift gets dual front airbags, 9.1 Bosch ABS, panic brake indication, collapsible steering column and side intrusion beams, engine immobilizer, speed alert, and auto door lock while driving. The facelift offers the Micro Hybrid technology that was available in the earlier model. At the sides, the indicators have now moved to the outside rearview mirrors from the front fenders and it now rides on a set of new five-spoke alloy wheels. The rear end also comes with some considerable changes and the biggest change is the revised tailgate that now traded the stylish black element for a chrome slat at the centre. Having said that, in terms of dimensions, the Scorpio remains unchanged, so we think the third will come short on knee room for an average sized adult and will be more suitable for children. The taillamps have also been revised and instead of clear glass unit, the Scorpio now gets red units.
Coming to the interior, the cabin gets an upholstery change. A bigger roof-mounted spoiler and a revised bumper is also part of the updates. It comes loaded with many advanced technology features like projector headlamps with static bending technology, 6-inch touch-screen infotainment with Global Positioning System, fully automatic temperature control, etc. Scorpio's SUV-build chassis makes it safer with rough road & off-road capabilities.
International Monetary Fund revises up S. Korea's 2017 growth outlook to 3.2 pct
