According to the University, EMS was called Monday to an off campus apartment where Phi Kappa Psi pledge Matthew Ellis, 20, was found unresponsive. His friends called 911 at approximately 11 a.m., the day after his fraternity's initiation ceremonies on November 12, when they realized he wasn't breathing.

Authorities investigating Ellis's death reportedly believe alcohol may have played a role.

Witnesses told cops how Ellis, a Business major, was pledging for Phi Kappa Psi.

It was also apprised to the court that majority of public spaces and parks do not have security, CCTV cameras and lightings. The petitioner informed HC that already Haryana has made inclusions in IPC to make it harsher against snatchings.

"As a result of this tragedy, I have suspended activities of all Greek fraternity and sorority chapters at Texas State", Trauth said.

Trauth released a statement Tuesday afternoon suspending all fraternity and sorority activities on campus. "Our thoughts and prayers are with his family, friends and the entire TSU student body during this hard time".

University President Denise Trauth says the chapters won't be reinstated until a review is done of the entire fraternity and sorority system on campus. "Phi Kappa Psi will continue to work closely with the TXSU administration and law enforcement during their review of this matter, and have advised all members to cooperate fully".
