MI to open 2018 under the lights at Notre Dame

After playing Notre Dame, Michigan plays at home against Western Michigan on Saturday, Sept. 8.

The announcement comes after MI tied a program record with three regular-season night games in 2017. The Florida State game will be home finale and Senior Day.

Syracuse and Notre Dame have met two times since, in 2014 and 2016, with the Irish winning both games at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, N.J. The game will be televised by NBC at 7:30pm ET.

The Irish will have a daunting close to their season including multiple trips across the country in the final month.

One additional Fighting Irish home game in 2018 will be televised in prime-time by NBC at 7:30pm ET - the November 10 game against Florida State.

Had the 2018 contest been moved from the Carrier Dome in upstate NY to Yankee Stadium, it wouldn't have been a surprise. The Irish will then head back to the west coast to close out the regular season on November 24th at USC.

Syracuse football's 2018 game at Notre Dame has been moved to Yankee Stadium, according to a report by The Athletic. Their lone road game in that stretch is at Wake Forest on September 22nd.

MI and Notre Dame play again in 2019, with the Wolverines playing at home against the Irish on Saturday, Oct. 26.
