New England Patriots re-sign LB Jonathan Freeny

The New England Patriots announced that they have re-signed LB Jonathan Freeny. This will mark Freeny's second stint with the Patriots.

Freeny spent the 2015 and 2016 seasons in New England before being released as part of the team's final cuts in September.

Freeny originally entered the National Football League as a rookie free agent with Miami out of Rutgers in 2011.

According to multiple reports, Freeny was the new No. 44 at Patriots practice on Wednesday. He spent time with the Ravens and Jaguars this season, playing in three games for Baltimore. Last season, Freeny injured his shoulder in October and was placed on the injured reserve list after just five games.
