Following the I-Pace concept's debut late previous year, the British manufacturer says that thousands of potential customers have either registered their interest or placed a deposit for the production version of the premium electric SUV.
The eye-catching crossover is the carmaker's first all-electric vehicle and will directly rival the Tesla Model X. Unlike the Tesla, however, the I-Pace won't look like a bloated¬ sedan and instead more closely resemble a sporty luxury auto fitting of the Jaguar badge. During the test run, engineers managed to cover 200 miles from Sunset Boulevard in Los Angeles to Morro Bay in San Luis Obsipo. Performance, battery details, and pricing will be announced closer to March 2018 when Jaguar plans on beginning to take orders on its I-Pace.
On Armed Forces Flag Day, India Honours The Protectors Of The Nation
The occasion is an attempt by the armed forces to forge a link between the Indian armed forces and the civilian population. President of India Ram Nath Kovind met with the officers of the Kendriya Sainik Board at Rashtrapati Bhavan in New Delhi.
It is projected that the North American market will account for around 50 per cent of the I-Pace's sales when it enters production, with China and Europe each accounting for 25 per cent. That power is sent through all four wheels, with that equating to a 0-60mph time of roughly four seconds.
"Jaguar's first battery electric vehicle will also be fast to charge", said Jaguar's Vehicle Line Director, Ian Joban. As such, the crossover will adopt very short front and rear overhangs, allowing Jaguar designers to maximize interior space and to keep the vehicle's dimensions within a normal range.
"This isn't just a concept".
Jaguar are yet to confirm the i-Pace's production specs, but we can't see it very likely they will be any less impressive than the concept vehicle - and that's pretty impressive.
