These days Bollywood is making lot of sports based films so naturally when Anurag Kashyap announced his next MUKKABAAZ, we presumed that this is yet another sports based film. The story of the film revolves around a low caste boxer, who is talented but ends up falling in love with the niece of local Don, who is hell bound on destroying the talented young boxer over caste issue.

"We have more sports movies than medals. I call it the most pro-sports film", Kashyap told reporters here at the trailer launch of the film. In population, we come after China but in medal tally, we always lag behind. Why is it happening?

"There is a problem in our sports system". Through this film and through a love story, we are trying to explore that. It's a very pro-sports film.

The Gangs of Wasseypur director said as a nation we tend to celebrate "small medals" so much that we often miss the larger picture. The film comes from that irony. We have known each other since a long time now. The film looks at how in sports we have to deal with things which are not connected to it.

Kashyap said the film aims to have a larger commentary on the situation of sports in the country. "The irony exists only in our country and then we expect medals".
