Chinese state media gives advice on surviving nuclear attack to citizens near North Korea border

People in a Chinese province bordering North Korea have been offered a nuclear survival guide by the local state-run newspaper.

A spokesman for North Korea said on Thursday: "We do not wish for a war but shall not hide from it, and should the U.S. miscalculate our patience and light the fuse for a nuclear war, we will surely make the U.S. dearly pay the consequences with our mighty nuclear force which we have consistently strengthened".

North Korea regularly uses its state media to threaten the United States and its allies.

North Korea's foreign ministry blamed the drills and "confrontational warmongering" by U.S. officials for making war inevitable.
