Nifty ends at fresh life-time high

After two flat days, Indian markets opened in the green on Friday.

On the National Stock Exchange (NSE), the wider Nifty50 edged higher by 30.05 points or 0.07 per cent to close at 10,681.25 points.

The barometer 30-scrip Sensitive Index (Sensex) of the BSE recovered nearly 250 points from its day's low at 34,342.16 points to provisionally close (at 3.30 p.m.) the day's trade at a new high of 34,592.39 points - up 88.90 points or 0.26 per cent - from its previous session's close. During the week, the Sensex gained 438.54 points, or 1.28%, while the Nifty rose 122.40 points, or 1.15%.

"There is a little bit of hesitation seen ahead of key macro data coming later in the day". Refiners advanced on the back of weaker oil prices.

Abbott Laboratories (ABT) Given "Buy" Rating at Royal Bank of Canada
It worsened, as 47 investors sold ABT shares while 563 reduced holdings. 108 funds opened positions while 453 raised stakes. First Citizens National Bank & Trust holds 0.62% of its portfolio in Abbott Laboratories (NYSE: ABT ) for 89,652 shares.

The S&P BSE Mid-cap and small cap index was up by 1%. Japan's Nikkei dipped 0.1 per cent.

The BSE index opened with a gain of 75.50 points on 34,578.99 while the broader 50-share NSE Nifty also started trading on an all-time high of 10,682.55, opening 31.35 points above previous closing. The indexes hit record closing levels four times this week. China reported trade data for December with exports moving up 10.9 per cent and imports rising 4.5 per cent.
