The baby girl, whose name is Manushi, came into the world weighing just 0.88lbs (399g) - just under the weight of a large bar of Cadbury's chocolate - after arriving 12 weeks early. She was not breathing when she was born, but the couple chose to fight to keep her alive. There is no reported survival of a baby weighing this small in India and South Asia. Problems related to any one system can singularly kill the baby and is the commonest outcome in these cases.
