Celtic's Brendan Rodgers considering deal for PSG loanee Odsonne Edouard

Celtic boss Brendan Rodgers reveals that he is in "no rush" to complete a permanent deal for Paris Saint-Germain forward Odsonne Edouard.

Edouard is now on a season-long loan from Paris Saint-Germain, and has scored four goals in 13 appearances in all competitions.

Celtic would have to shell out a club record £7m for his services on a permanent basis, and Rodgers is content to give the young forward time to prove his worth.

Commenting on the deal for Morgan, which will see the player remain on loan with St Mirren until the end of the season, Rodgers said: "Lewis is a player I have admired since I have been up here when he played against us, and watching him play for Scotland Under-21s and St Mirren".

The Edouard situation might change if either Moussa Dembele or Leigh Griffiths decide it's time to move on, with offers imminent in January. I have been impressed and he is getting better each week.

'He has grown each week he has been with us. It's a case of assessing it.

Asked if the striker has banged on his door demanding a game, Rodgers shook his head.

Although they have perhaps not hit the heights of last season - a 4-0 defeat to Hearts ended their long unbeaten run - progress has still been serene for Rodgers at Celtic Park and he is enjoying the opportunity to get his players together in the sun of Dubai.

"Normally, when one was playing and one wasn't, it can sometimes psychologically affect, but if you have another one who can then jump over the two, the two know they have to be on their toes all of the time".

'He is a very humble boy. He works hard and like I say he is improving and understands where he is fitting in and what his role is.

'He knows I will play him and be prepared to play him'.
