Cormier fighting against his past at UFC 220

Francis Ngannou Has a Bold Prediction for His Fight With Stipe Miocic at UFC 220

Daniel Cormier faces the unsafe Volkan Oezdemir at UFC 220 next weekend, but it's not the only thing he will be fighting against in the octagon.

Well, recently the UFC held a media call, in advance of the January 20th, UFC 220 card in Boston. Even the fight against Alistair Overeem, I was already prepared for five rounds because I knew I was going to have Stipe [Miocic] after that. I'm just going to finish Stipe in under two rounds.

While the challenger had plenty to say when asked about his rapid climb through the ranks, his preparation and what makes him the man to dethrone Miocic, the reigning champion was content to offer flashes of sarcasm, give credit where it's due and subtly remind everyone that he's a different type of fighter than anyone the surging Ngannou has faced to date. I think that Volkan's a fantastic fight.

First Elite Dangerous Beyond Update Gets Late January Beta
Season 3 will bring several planetary enhancements to break up the monotony of grey and beige rocks with little reason to land on. Beyond - Chapter One will be "followed by two smaller content updates through the year and our largest update coming in Q4".

"It's not just about punching hard", Cormier said. As I said before, I couldn't avoid [talking] about these two fights and I had that pressure for two fights.

The roles were reversed on the light heavyweight side of next weekend's tandem title fights.

Cormier doesn't understand the fact that fight fans can doubt him. "I believe he believes in himself and in his power, but to beat me, just being a powerful guy, ain't going to be enough".

After Retirement Announcement, GOP Rep. Darrell Issa Considering Run in Neighboring District
Issa narrowly won re-election in 2016, making him a clear target in 2018 for Democrats hoping to seize control of the House. Both were considered among the party's most endangered members and in 2018.

"That was my goal when I signed with the UFC - to be the fastest rising to the belt - and now it's about accomplishing that goal and there is only one step left and it's to knock out Daniel Cormier".

Cormier admitted that Oezdemir has knockout power but does not recognise the Swiss star as a contender for the belt. "There's a certain thing to me, that for some reason people see these guys as true threats to me and that they can just beat me". "It's always fun to go out and prove these guys wrong". When I go to my training camp, I train my conditioning, everything, I prepare [for] a regular fight, for the regular round fight. That shouldn't warrant a person being favored to win a fight because they can knock somebody out. You've got to see, you've got to look at a guy's entire body of work.

Oezdemir's highlight reel might have the flashier finishes, but Cormier doesn't see any scenario in which he's added to it. When I look at guys like Anthony Johnson and Volkan Oezdemir, for people to think they're just going to beat me, to me it's just insane. "It's just insane. I really do feel pressure, because I want pressure, but I like making people say, "Well, I guess he wasn't the guy that was going to knock 'DC" out.' That's fine to me, to kind of just stick it to people".

Thomas Contract Not Renewed
The senior wide receiver, and one of UK's top targets a season ago, was sidelined this season by an ankle injury. It was a bold and provocative move considering he had been Louisville's coach during the 2015 year.

In the main event, the heavyweight title will be on the line when Stipe Miocic attempts to retain his title against Francis Ngannou.
