Weather Outlook Snow ice may create travel issues this weekend

Central New York will be under a winter storm warning beginning this afternoon as a major winter storm threatens to bring icy roadways and then up to a foot of snow.

A strong cold front was moving through the state on Friday morning, along with scattered rain. Be prepared for heavy rain into the evening commute as highs soar into the mid to upper 50s.

That cold air will quickly spread eastward Saturday morning, changing the rain over to a mix of ice and snow. More wet weather and melting snow is expected Friday and Saturday.

Areas in Northern Kentucky near the Ohio River may receive around 4 inches of snow, the weather service said, while most of Eastern Kentucky is likely to receive 1 to 2 inches.

While Livermore, 28, will face no disciplinary action, the FA sent a reminder about the dangers of reacting in this manner.

Areas in west Kentucky will see between one-tenth and one-quarter inch of ice and an average of one to three inches of snow and sleet accumulation. The low will be about 7 degrees but temperatures will rise to about 19 degrees by 5 a.m. on Saturday.

According to the advisory, rain will change over to a mix of freezing rain and sleet Friday morning before changing to all snow.

Friday: Sunny and breezy, with a high near 56 and a low around 30.

People driving home from work or going out Friday evening should exercise caution, meteorologist Tim Exford said Thursday. Unsafe travel conditions will develop along area roadways.

Serena Williams Opens Up About Emergency C-Section
While she was due to return to the court this January, Williams's comeback has now been delayed until March. After her heart rate took a dip during labor, Williams said she had an emergency C-section.

The bitter cold temperatures are expected to linger into next week, with highs in the teens and 20s.

SUNDAY: Partly to mostly cloudy skies and snow flurries will be possible, with a frigid high temperature of 24 degrees.

By 9-11 a.m., we could start to see the rain freeze once it reaches the ground (freezing rain), and towards the end of that timeframe, sleet is possible west of I-65.

The collision of moist and cold air will set Austin up for a 50 percent chance for light rain that night, which could last through Tuesday morning - and potentially become sleet. In addition, strong northwest winds may gust to 40 miles per hour just behind the passage of the cold front.
