The flashback fun arrives less than a week after the debut of the first full-length trailer for Deadpool 2, which was jam-packed with action, humor, plot clues and a couple of jabs at Brolin's other big superhero-movie role, that of Thanos in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. He did it again on Monday when he shared a birthday message for Brolin. Now, as Brolin celebrates his 50th birthday, Ryan Reynolds has paid tribute to his co-star by releasing new promo art featuring the Merc with a Mouth painting Cable as Brolin's character in Richard Donner's The Goonies. "You don't taste a day over 40", Reynolds wrote in the caption. "Bright Eye" is one of many nicknames Deadpool might use for Cable in the movie, in reference to his sometimes glowing artificial eye. His character has not officially been revealed, though some rumors suggest he'll be playing the evil mutant called "Black" Tom Cassidy. Japanese actress Shioli Kutsuna and Julian Dennison are also coming along for the ride. Both actors have a tit-for-tat relationship, with Brolin recently mocking Reynolds' physique as Deadpool 2 heads back for reshoots.
