Authorities wanted to search Giles' Albuquerque apartment because they thought "evidence related to the planned burglary and homicides of Megan Turney and Gavin Free will be found", the search warrant says.
Christopher Giles was the name of the perpetrator and his intent (as gathered from evidence on his phone) was to kill Free.
Free and Turney have not responded to interview requests about the incident, but both have tweeted to assure their fans that they're doing OK and thank Austin police for their response. They hid in their bedroom closet and called 911 while Giles searched their home for them.
As police arrived on scene, a Lincoln sedan with New Mexico plates was seen backing out of the driveway to the home.

Giles was pronounced dead at the scene, with an initial report from the medical examiner indicated he died of a self-inflicted gunshot. Most of you may know Free for his work on Red Vs. Blue, while Turney is most prominent for The Know (a show about current events in pop culture).
Giles was said to have developed an obsession with Mr Torney and according to the search warrant one note said: "I want Gavin Free to die alone with no children".
Giles was described by police as a "single, lonely and disturbed" individual who had "developed a fondness" for Turney but had great distain for Free.
According to newly released New Mexico court documents, it all started on January 26, when Meg and Gav were awakened at around 3:40 a.m.by the sounds of a gunshot and glass breaking. He fired his gun, causing the couple to call the authorities. The officers announced their presence, heard a single gunshot come from the vehicle and returned fire.

The police found a.45 caliber handgun near his hand.
Nothing was stolen from the couple's house, the warrant says.
A spokeswoman for the Austin Police Department said the case is under investigation and she could not answer any additional questions about it.
