According to a report from Bloomberg, Apple's focus on squashing bugs in iOS 12 has delayed a bunch of features, including nearly anything significant for the iPad, until 2019. Instead of meeting a tight deadline and ticking all the boxes on the checklist, development teams will be able to push back some features if they're not polished enough. This focus on introducing a bevy of new features with every major update saw the likes of Apple Pay Cash and Messages on iCloud being delayed despite their announcement a year ago.
The report also mentions that iOS 12 is going to bring a redesigned native stock-tracking app from Apple this year as well as an updated Do Not Disturb mode let gives users more options to automatically reject phone calls or mute notifications.
Other details about the future operating system remain unknown, and it's possible that some features will be bumped back if they aren't up to snuff.

In its request, Apple wrote that, based on the forks it reviewed, "we believe that all or most of the forks in these networks are infringing to the same extent as the parent repositories".
One source close to the situation told Bloomberg, "This change is Apple beginning to realize that schedules are not being hit [and] stuff is being released with bugs".
Apple had to publicly acknowledge last week that, the secure software that runs on iPhones and iPads before the operating system kicks off, had indeed been leaked. Unfortunately, the renewed focus on quality will delay some features as well, including redesigns to the Home screens of the iPhone, iPad and CarPlay; as well as, a revamped Photos app which can suggest which images to view. This way, iOS developers could port iOS apps to the Mac without having to recode big portions of the app.
