Johnny Manziel, the former Cleveland Browns quarterback whose personal struggles got so bad his own father hoped he'd end up in jail, says he's been in contact with National Football League teams regarding a comeback.
Manziel announced Wednesday that he will participate in the developmental Spring League in Austin, Texas, which will play from March 28 to April 15. Unfortunately for him, his size (6-1, 220 pounds) and demeanor have led to comparisons with a former Browns first-round pick, Johnny Manziel.
In an ABC interview on Monday, Manziel opened up about being bi-polar and sinking into deep depression. Before the 2017 NFL Combine, Manziel was reportedly drawing interest from a few teams. Sometimes you take for granted how much you value something until it's gone. Never mind that Manziel is an admitted addict now taking medication for mental disorders.
Microsoft adds Windows 7, 8.1 support to Windows Defender ATP
The release targets the users who are now in transition and still have at least Windows 7 devices in possession. The Defender ATP for Windows is a "unified endpoint security platform" dedicated to stopping breaches.
It appears Manziel is looking for another opportunity than the CFL to jumpstart his career and get him back to the National Football League after contract negotiations with the Hamilton Tiger-Cats, who hold his CFL rights, hit a snag.
This will be the second year for the Spring League. Can't wait to get back on the field and show National Football League scouts what I can do!
Though The Spring League is not affiliated with the NFL, it recruits players with previous NFL experience who are looking to return to pro football, making it a good fit for Manziel. "Learn from my mistakes and get back to what I love doing and what I want to be doing in my life", he said, according to For the Win. Where did that get me?
Alvaro Morata Admits He Shouldn't Have Played Through the Pain
His penalty miss in the 2012 semi-final also proved to be decisive as Chelsea went on to win their first Champions League trophy. "I didn't play knockout games in the Champions League , neither against Barcelona , Atletico Madrid, Sevilla or Valencia".
His CFL rights belong to the Hamilton Tiger-Cats, but no one in their right mind expects Manziel to suit up for the Tabbies, who continue to go about their business of a building a roster for the 2018 season.
The Dolphins should have a chance at one of the top quarterbacks in this year's draft if they want one, and adding one behind Ryan Tannehill makes sense this year. His agency had already cut ties with him prior to his release, and then Drew Rosenhaus both agreed to represent and cut ties with Manziel within a two-month span.
