You can apply for the scheme if your child is under the age 12 - or 17 if they have a disability.

For every £8 that families pay in, the government will top it up with an additional £2.

The government's Tax-Free Childcare scheme today opens for all parents whose youngest child is under 12.

Payments are made by parents through the Childcare Choice website, which was launched back in April 2017 - but was hit with technical difficulties. The maximum government top-up is £500 per quarter for each child.
