The scholarship will be a separate fund within the Indianapolis Colts Foundation.

Indianapolis Colts owner Jim Irsay is donating $25,000 to establish the Edwin Jackson Memorial Scholarship in memory of the former linebacker who was killed in a traffic accident February 4. "We are all better people for having known him, and we already miss him so much". It will be an annual award for a "qualified student applicant".

"My family and the entire Colts organization are proud to have been associated with Edwin, and we are honored to help continue his legacy in the future".

Jackson and Monroe were both pronounced dead at the scene.
