CM Punk Hints He'll Be Fighting at UFC 225 in Chicago

It's been rumored for a while now, and where there's smoke, there's more often than not fire.

It looks like former WWE Champion CM Punk has confirmed his return to the UFC's Octagon. While the card also featured a heavyweight title fight between Stipe Miocic and Alistair Overeem, a fair amount of that interest could be attributed to Punk. That just so happens to be the date of UFC 225 in Punk's home town of Chicago.

WWE champion CM Punk, left, is shown with fans Oliver Whittaker, of London, right, and his fiancee Maria Rosenberg, of Chattanooga, Tenn., at the WWE Wrestlemania Axxess, a fan event at the Miami Beach Convention Center, Thursday, March 29, 2012 in Miami Beach, Fla.

Unhappy With Himself, Kagiso Rabada Promises to Learn from Mistake
Having dismissed Australia for 239 in their second innings in the morning session‚ South Africa needed only 101 runs to win. He tried one too many big shots and was caught in the deep by Ngidi off left-arm spinner Keshav Maharaj.

White, for the record, has yet to comment on Punk's latest statement.

On Monday, Punk indicated that he will fight in the UFC again this summer while he was responding to a Twitter troll.

Punk's signing in 2014 turned a lot of heads in the MMA world.

Will miss remainder of season with stress fracture
Matthews has struggled shooting the ball throughout the season, making barely 40 percent of his attempts from the field and 38 percent from deep.

Punk didn't reveal an opponent, which will likely come from outside the current roster given the pro wrestler's lack of MMA experience. He quickly lost to Mickey Gall via submission in the first round. After being held back with a shoulder injury, Punk's first fight was announced in February when he'd take on UFC newcomer Mickey Gall. The fight ended in the first round, with Punk forced to tap to a rear-naked choke.

To his credit, Punk handled defeat gracefully, and stayed dedicated to his training. The news of Punk's return is brand new, so we have no idea who his opponent will be as of yet.
