WaPo: Roger Stone Told Associate About Contact With Julian Assange In 2016

Roger Stone told two people he was in contact with Julian Assange: report

Stone told friend WikiLeaks had emails regarding Dems before it was publicly known: report

Former campaign advisor to President Trump and South Florida resident Roger Stone said he refutes a report that he made contact with Wikileaks' founder, Julian Assange.

He reiterated his denials Monday to the Post, saying his comments to Nunberg were intended as a joke.

John Wall making progress, could be practicing by end of week
The Wizards might want him to get in a few full-contact practices before he gets back out there, so Wall might not play this week. The encouraging signs for the Washington Wizards and guard John Wall continue as he travels the injury-rehab trail.

Sam Nunberg, who worked for Trump after being connected to him through Stone, told the newspaper that he had described the matter to investigators for Special Counsel Robert Mueller.

Stone has repeatedly denied direct contact with Wikileaks, which published thousands of emails from the Democratic National Committee and Hillary Clinton adviser John Podesta, through a journalist. "I said, 'I think I will go to London for the weekend and meet with Julian Assange.' It was a joke, a throwaway line to get him off the phone".

Whether it was insisting that he fired his ex-employer (and not the other way around) or regaling Alex Jones with tales of attempted assassinations by the "Deep State", former Trump adviser Roger Stone has claimed a lot of things since he first gained the spotlight during the 2016 presidential election. "The idea that I would meet with Assange undetected is ridiculous on its face"'.

He said publicly in August 2016 that he was in contact with Assange, but told Congressional investigators previous year that he communicated with Wikileaks only through a journalist. Stone specified that those e-mails might come from the Clinton Foundation; nine days later, Reuters reported that the hackers might have gone after the organization.

Bank for International Settlements warn Central Banks on Issuing Digital Currencies
While a CBDC might not alter the basic mechanics of monetary policy implementation, its transmission could be affected. The Fed's Powell said a year ago that "governance and risk management will be critical" for cryptocurrencies.

That's one hell of a series of coincidences for a "joke". They would need to find actual communications between the two to have a winnable case in court; these supposed admissions given secondhand by Nunberg and an unnamed witness wouldn't be enough, and probably wouldn't even advance the ball much.
