Apple Comes Down Hard On Leakers

Apple has always been obsessed with secrecy, but a new memo seems to take it to the next level.

Bloomberg reports an Apple memo (that was leaked, funnily enough) warns employees that the tech company will seek criminal charges against anyone who leaks information.

Apple has gone full swivel-eyed, control-freak insane on its own employees with a demented internal memo decrying information leaks.

A similar memo named "stopleaks" was sent when a transcript of a TGIF meeting related to the position of Nest, smart home company was leaked.

France to decide on Syria strike within days
There was no immediate confirmation or indication from Assad's government that Syrian troops entered Douma on Thursday. It was not clear whether the presence of the investigators could affect the timing of any USA military action.

In 2017, Apple held a confidential meeting with employees in another bid to stop leaks. The leaked information can result either in negative sales of an existing product or a slow start to a new product or can give a chance to competitors to enter the market before Apple does.

The company said in a strongly worded memo that it had caught 29 people who leaked information past year, and 12 of them were arrested. Described as coming from a private briefing that "was the first of many Apple is planning to host for employees", the recording included a "keep [your] mouth shut" video, behind-the-scenes details from investigations, and Apple internal investigators spotlighting their military and legal credentials. Now, there are some out there who claim that Apple may be releasing the gold iPhone X this year but those are just rumors with no evidence as these photos were submitted to the FCC last year.

"These people not only lose their jobs, they can face extreme difficulty finding employment elsewhere", the letter rants.

The memo also listed examples of people the company caught, including employees who shared details about the iPhone 10 and iPad Pro to a reporter.

Leakers in the supply chain are getting caught, too. Read the whole memo at Bloomberg. The company need to deal with both the leaks among its own corporate employees as well as from its supplier partners.

It can, therefore, be surmised that Apple's initial plan was to release the iPhone X in three colors - gold, silver, and space gray.

Apple has really gone harsh on its employees who were part of leaks previous year, "These people not only lose their jobs, they can face extreme difficulty finding employment elsewhere". In the memo, the employees were threatened with losing their jobs if they revealed trade secrets.

Though the leak from the FCC isn't completely unreliable, don't get your hopes up until Apple introduces it themselves, which could likely happen at WWDC this year. He fortifies, "The best way to honor those contributions is by not leaking".

Weapons inspectors plan to head to Syria's Douma hours after strikes
The Russian military said most of the missiles were countered with anti-aircraft defense systems. The OPCW will determine whether chemical weapons were used, but will not assign blame.
