Kellyanne Conway's suggestion on Monday that James Comey's actions before the 2016 presidential election "swung" the outcome and enabled Donald Trump to win did not go unnoticed or unchallenged on Twitter.

"The president is very confounded that this person is always able to divert the spotlight to him", Conway said during an appearance on "Good Morning America" on ABC.

"This guy swung an election", Conway said to ABC's George Stephanopoulos.

Conway spent the morning rebutting the idea that she was attributing her boss' victory to Comey, retweeting this from CNN's Chris Cuomo - who didn't miss an opportunity to take a shot at a rival network.

Conway also complained to Stephanopoulos that Comey was given a "free commercial" to urge viewers to vote against Trump.

After James Comey was sacked as head of the Federal Bureau of Investigation last May, many wondered when and if the former director would speak out.

Conway came on ABC's Good Morning America on Monday and called out Comey for essentially selling his soul for a book deal instead of testifying under oath before the Senate Judiciary Committee past year.

"I saw James Comey last night and I thought: 'Is it true that James Comey swung an election?" "Show me the swing states where she was above 50 percent on October 20 before Comey came out ..."
