Ford's 1.5L 3-Cylinder That Can Run On 2 Cylinders Coming To America

In Melbourne's Albert Park, Ford Australia this morning announced the official launch of Ford Performance in Australia and New Zealand.

In addition Whickman confirmed that the Fiesta ST will launch in Australia during the first half of 2019 as part of the expanded Ford Performance portfolio.

The move comes as part of the company's announcement that it will roll out the Ford Performance brand in Australia, the company once again embracing its heritage as a performance vehicle brand.

Jaguar Land Rover to cut jobs in UK
Jaguar Land Rover has decided not to renew contracts of about 1,000 of its agency staffers at the Solihull factory in UK. Shares of Tata Motors on the Indian exchanges today settled almost 5 per cent down on JLR's job cut plans in the UK.

However, while Ford Performance fills a hole in the brand's range since the demise of Ford Performance Vehicles in 2014, Whickman said the new sub-brand would not have its own dealerships or even dealer-in-dealer spaces, instead all Ford dealers will sell Ford Performance products alongside the rest of the range. Whickman explained the company was simply too focused on the transition from manufacturing to a fully-imported line-up, and the job losses associated with that, to publicly fund an expensive racing program.

Ford confirmed it will bring the next generation Ford Fiesta ST to Australia under the Ford Performance banner, as well as the new Mustang and the Ranger Raptor.

"We want to showcase our passion for performance and we want to bring performance you can use to more customers", he said.

The announcement was timed to coincide with the 54th anniversary of the Mustang's launch.

"There's been a lot of speculation and calls for Mustang to be on the track", Whickman said, "and as a Ford Performance model that's raced around the world, it's fitting that Australia's most popular sports auto should be on our race tracks".

"Reality is the market is changing, we're seeing less passenger cars and more SUVs and pickups". Now the three parties will shape its aerodynamics in order to get it ready for the start of the new season.
