His last full-length work, 4 Your Eyez Only, dropped in early December of 2016, which isn't long ago by many artists' standards but seems like it for J. Cole. On Monday (April 16), just hours after he hosted an impromptu mystery event in New York City's Gramercy Theatre, the rapper used his Twitter account to announce a brand-new album coming this Friday (April 20).
Following the aforementioned performance, Cole jumped back on social media to reveal that he has a new album on the way and it's titled KOD.

According to Brian "B.Dot" Miller of Rap Radar, the album's acronym means "Kidz On Drugz", "King Overdose," and "Kill Our Demonz".
