In a dramatic turn of events, tainted Australian batsman Cameron Bancroft has been cleared to play club cricket for Westen Australia club Willetton before the end of his nine-month ban for ball-tampering.
The umpires speak to Cameron Bancroft (left), who admitted cheating, while his captain Steve Smith watches on.
Captain Smith and his deputy David Warner were both banned from worldwide and domestic cricket for a year after a plan was hatched to alter the condition of the ball at Newlands.
The 23-year-old has been granted an exemption to play for Willeton as state association rules in Western Australia meant that any player banned from playing the state or national side is also barred from playing club cricket.
Bancroft, who is now serving a nine-month ban for his involvement in the ball-tampering row in South Africa, was not present at the meeting.

Healthy twin fawns are the rule rather than the exception, because most adult does give birth to twins, D'Angelo said. Among domestic wildlife, only 19 cases of conjoined twins were found between 1671 and 2006, D'Angelo said.
Bancroft will therefore be able to play for his club side up to three months before his CA ban ends in late December.
Two clubs opposed the exemption but 14 voted in favour in a secret ballot.
"They were put in an awkward position by the sanctions in the first place and a lack of understanding of the rules that applied across premier cricket in Australia, but it is good news for Cameron", Ms Matthews said.
"You could say there was a fair amount of love", Matthews said of the mood of the room.
"He would have the opportunity if it hadn't been approved to go interstate but I don't think that would have sat well with him".

West Bromwich Albion caretaker coach Darren Moore: "It's been a freakish season really, absolutely freaky ". And after the game Hodgson spared a thought for his former club on a day of personal celebration.
"He'll be very excited", Matthews said.
He is also required to serve 100 hours of community service as part of his suspension.
The cricket council meeting was expected to be one of the most contentious since the mid 1980s when Kim Hughes was banned from playing for Subiaco-Floreat over his role in the rebel tours to South Africa.
Matthews said that line of work will be finalised over the coming week.
